This mixer is a social open studio making session to communally explore various surface decorating techniques.
Bring pieces you made at home or create small slabbed pieces during the sessions.
Focus is to have pieces in a leather hard to dry state to explore surface decorating techniques on. This session is run by a staff member who will be playing along and encouraging and demonstrating various techniques each week.

We'll explore various surface decorating techniques such as mishima, underglaze transfers, slip transfers, sgraffito, water etching and more!

Our basic Supplies for decorating will be included. Participants are to bring pieces or clay with them to work on. Here are our suggestions on what to bring:
Week 1: Underglaze transfers: Pieces in a leatherhard, bone dry or even bisqued state!
Week 2: Slip Transfers: soft leather hard - think suede
Week 3: Sgraffito - leather hard to suede state
Week 4: Water Etching - leather hard to bone dry
Week 5: Mishima - bone dry
