We have an opportunity for a:
Full Time Position
&
1-2 Part-Time Summer Student Positions with the opportunity to extend into the fall & winter for the right candidates.

 

Day to day duties may vary. Expect a bit of:

Retail Assistance, Production Pottery trimming, hand building & glazing.

Roles:

·       Working in our retail Brick & Mortar store assisting customers, processing checkouts and payments, providing tours to new customers and students. Answering the phone and answering basic questions or taking messages.

·       Pulling and preparing orders for shipping.

·       Assisting production with trimming, waxing and other duties

·       Basic cleaning tasks in our retail area and studio.

·       Assists with other duties, as required.

Being a small team we recognize this is a bit of a Unicorn role involving a shift in your daily tasks, but is perfect for a someone who wants to work in and support the creative arts industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creativity and community. 

If you can take on shifting duties with agility and humour, you’re in the right place! 

You might start your day pulling orders or helping trim last night's workshop. Between those duties, you might assist customers in the store, or other staff members in moving clay or flipping slabs. Occasionally, you might receive restock orders, wash and wax bisqueware or put some computer skills to work on the backend of our website.

The ideal candidate has:

·       Top notch customer service skills - being as helpful as possible. We understand with clay it's a lot of practice makes perfect, but helping customers over the phone or in person to the best of your own ability is important.

·       Excellent attention to detail.

·       Advanced problem-solving skills. You are a resourceful and a creative thinker when faced with a challenge, and you understand that every obstacle has a solution. You think ahead, anticipate potential problems/outcomes and plan accordingly.

·       Strong interpersonal skills. You feel comfortable talking to, and engaging with new people in person, over the phone and online.

·       Comfortable with evolving projects that may require new direction.

·       Computer skills: Word, Excel. Familiarity with Shopify is an asset, but not a must.

·       Ability to lift 50lbs comfortably. There is no getting around it, clay is heavy and every staff member regardless of their role must be able to assist with moving clay when needed.
