Looking to have pieces fired? We can help with that!
Amaranth Stoneware offers kiln rental - all you need to do is drop off and we will load and fire for you! We can fire up to ^10.
Rent a full shelf, half shelf (19" round) or a full kiln: small (6.7 cu ft.) or large (10.2 cu ft.)
Kiln rentals are charged after loading and firing. The amount of space you take up is determined while loading and paid for at pick up.
You should have some pottery experience and know which cone you want to fire to when dropping off your pieces. For shared kiln space we bisque fire to ^04 and glaze fire to ^5. If you rent an entire kiln you can run your own firing schedule.
For all firings:
- Only clay purchased at Amaranth Stoneware will be fired in our kilns
- Pieces must be signed/have a unique maker's mark on the bottom
- At drop off you are responsible for completing the kiln rental form which includes:
- Your contact information
- The number of pieces and boxes you are dropping off
- Your unique makers mark
- Your signature agreeing to the community kiln terms
- All Lids are fired separately from their vessels
- Only clay purchased at Amaranth Stoneware will be fired in our kilns
- If your piece causes any damage to another's work or to Amaranth's kiln shelf or kiln there is a fee for the damage
Bisque Firing:
- Our standard firing schedule for a bisque load fires to ^04
- Greenware can touch and be stacked during a bisque firing
Glaze Firing:
- Our standard firing schedule for a glaze load fires to ^5
- CLEAN BOTTOMS: there shouldn't be any glaze within a quarter inch of the bottom of your pieces
- Glazed pieces require more space on the shelves because they cannot touch or stack during firing
- To fire an item that has been glazed on both sides, you must provide your own stilts.
- We DO NOT fire “hanging” items in our kilns. This Includes beads, ornaments, spoons, etc. - No exceptions.

*Please know that Amaranth Stoneware cares about you and your finished product. We will do everything in our power to make sure you receive a beautiful finished creation, but ultimately are not responsible for any loss, damaged or broken pottery. Should there be any glaze spillage a damaged kiln shelf fee will apply.* Sometimes we may need to refuse to fire pieces, at our discretion.
