Curious about handbuilding with clay? This is for you!
Join us for a fun and beginner-friendly 3-week class where you'll learn to create functional and decorative pottery by hand. We'll explore slab-building techniques, working with templates and forms, and surface decoration.

What to Expect:
Week 1: We’ll begin by covering the fundamentals of handbuilding:
- Working with slabs and templates
- Planning a successful project
- Understanding clay thickness, structure, and attachment

Together, we’ll start by creating a mug as a guided group project. Students are also welcome to begin planning additional simple forms using either their own ideas or Amaranth's templates.
Week 2: We'll focus on construction, and adding textural elements to your pieces. Students will continue building and refining their projects with the instructor's guidance and learn some pro-tips.
Week 3: In our final class, we’ll focus on finishing and decorating techniques:
- Using underglazes and underglaze transfers
- Final refinements and clean-up

All pieces will be finished with a clear glaze by our studio team after firing.
