New to pottery? Take the wheel for a spin!
In this 2 hour workshop, our instructor will show you how to throw on the wheel, help you centre your clay, and shares tips as you go. Make a bowl, tumbler, plate.. or really, whatever you can! The focus is on having fun, not on making perfect pots. Take it from us, when it comes to pottery, practice makes a master.
Who is this class for?
- This workshop is designed for adults 16 and over. It's open to anyone looking to try the wheel! Our instructor will tailor guidance to meet you where you're at, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience.
- Come solo or bring a friend
How long is the workshop?
2 hours including clean-up.
What's included
- Clay, tools, and instruction
- Your choice of 3 pieces to keep. Our staff trim, glaze, and fire them for you
- One glaze colour, chosen from 3 options
Pieces are usually ready for pickup 3-4 weeks after your class. We'll email you when they're ready.
Good to know
- Throwing can be a bit hard at first, so go with the flow of the clay and enjoy the experience of getting a little muddy
- Everyone is responsible for cleaning up their own workspace 15-20 minutes before the end of class.
- Please arrive 5–10 minutes early.
- Wear clothes that can get messy, avoid wearing jewelry, and trim your nails
A friendly reminder: Due to the nature of clay and the firing process, we cannot guarantee the final outcome of any piece. While we take great care with all work, warping, cracking, or breakage can occur. We like to say, “don’t fall in love with your piece until it makes it home with you!”
