Make a bird café that'll bring all the birds to your yard! 🐦
What to Expect:
In this two-day, 3 hour workshop you will learn the basics of handbuilding with a slab of clay to make an adorable bird feeder. This beginner-friendly class is a fun, relaxed introduction to clay, with plenty of room to get creative as you explore texture, form, and decorating techniques.

Course Outline:
- Class 1: You will cover the fundamentals of working with clay and building a sound structure.
- Class 2: You will refine your bird café and add color using underglaze paints.
Who is this class for?
- This workshop is designed for all skill levels. Our instructor will tailor guidance to meet you where you're at, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience.
- Come solo or bring a friend!
- Anyone under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
How long is the workshop?
- 2 classes over 2 weeks, 3 hours each
What's Included?
- Clay slab (approx. 2 lbs per person)
- Access to tools and underglaze paints
- Aprons (or bring your own!)
- Guidance from our Instructor
- Bisque and glaze firings (done by Amaranth staff)
- All pieces are finished with a clear gloss glaze
- Pieces are ready for pickup in approximately 2-4 weeks

- Sign up online, over the phone or in-person.
- A total of 9 spots available. We require a minimum of 6 students to run a class. You will be notified by email if a class is being rescheduled. Pst, we do private bookings too!

- Day of: Dress for mess! We recommend wearing clothes you can get muddy in.
- Trim your nails and tie back your hair- trust us, you'll thank us later.
- Arrive 5-10 minutes early. We promise we're friendly and there's lots to see in our studio! You may even be welcomed in by our sweet furry greeters- Boo & Frankie.
- Cleanup is a shared activity. Everyone helps clean their workspace :)!
Picking up your Pottery:
- We will email students when the pieces are ready for pick up and post it online, here: 'Are my Pots Ready?'
- Due to limited space in our studio, your pieces will be put up for adoption 1 month after they're ready for pick-up. Contact us if you would like to inquire about shipping.
