Week 1&2: Handbuilding - We'll learn a few various methods for handbuilding with clay! We will make our own test tiles for glazing in night 3 as well create various projects using slab, coil and pinch pot method. Come prepared with your own project or let us spark your creativity with one of our templates!
Week 3: Test Tile Glaze Night! Let's explore glazes together and learn various decorating techniques using underglazes and glazes. This test tile night allows us to get weird and wonderful results while learning how to document our experiments along the way! You can then reference these experiments on our last night to recreate your favorite finishes for your complete pieces!
Week 4-7: THROWING! Take it from us: Throwing is fun! So we make sure everyone gets their own wheel and jumps right in on the first go. Our instructor will teach you the basics for throwing bowls, mugs and plates. Each class you'll get muddy till 8:30pm before you start cleaning up! You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish!
Week 5: Glaze! One of the best parts! This is the kind of excitement you feel the night before Christmas or your birthday! We will have shared test tiles to reference from our test tile night and can confidently commit glaze designs to our pieces. Choose from our selection of in-house glazes and commercial glazes, with lots of colours to choose from. Have fun experimenting with glaze combos and decorating!
